About Me
Hi, I’m Brittany (she/her)!
Thanks so much for coming.
So you’re here and you’re probably trying to figure out who I am so you can make a decision about whether or not to do this therapy thing with me. Let me try to help:
Firstly, I believe therapy is about me helping you navigate life’s challenges and taking steps to become the version of yourself that you want. I will meet you, or you and your partner, where you currently are and work within that to help you reach your goals. You can expect honesty, empathy, and grace while we work on what brought you in to see me.
Secondly, I believe that everything is a system and therefore interconnected. This means that I seek to work with the whole person, family, or couple while identifying and respecting challenges that come with being a racial, gender, cultural, religious, or sexual minority in today’s world.
Lastly, I seek to provide a therapeutic experience that is authentic and congruent to who I am as a person. When you come to talk to me, I want you to feel as though you are talking to another living, thinking, and breathing human being. You’re taking this step and being so vulnerable with me in doing so and I want you to feel supported in our therapeutic space.
As a little background, I was born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas. I received my Bachelor’s of Arts in Psychology from Texas A&M University and my Master’s of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from Texas Woman’s University. I have experience working with a number of population types and presenting issues ranging from depression, anxiety, and trauma to communication issues, family of origin trauma, and relationship conflict.
For fun, I enjoy reading paranormal romance, watching anime, and playing video games. Also, the 80s had some jams, so you can catch me listening to those.
